  1. I'm 48 in just over a week (23rd Nov), but going by " a man is as old as the woman he feels", I'm 31 tongue out icon
  2. Why do so many people refer to this abomination as a LAW ? IT'S NOT A LAW MCPS do not have the power to make laws.
  3. The owner of another forum having the licence, has been known about since day -1, when he made it public, but he has also publicly stated that he does not agree with it, he only bought it because his business and forum is high profile. As for people contacting venue's and telling them about DJ's not having the licence, what the hell gives anyone the right to do that ? Are MCPS paying you to do their job for them ? or are you just using snide dirty tricks in an attempt to put people who don't agree with this rip off out of work ? I can honestly say, I would never stoop that low, and I can
  4. Crap ! Crumbling ?? it's getting stronger by the day I'll re-state what I've said on quite a few other forums, I give it a year MAX, and it'll be gone down the same drain as the Digital DJ Licence. Then we'll see all the sheeple that bought it wondering "Why did I waste my money on yet another piece of worthless paper?" And as for people becoming 100% aware of it, how many people do you honestly believe know about it and are talking about it ?? No more than a couple of hundred, maybe, possibly, at a big big stretch, even as high as a thousand. There's been virtually n
  5. MCPS are a private company, working on behalf of other private companies, they have absolutely no rights whatsoever to inspect, confiscate, demand access to, or whatever as regards your equipment, without first obtaining a court order. The courts cannot and will not give them those orders without them providing proof of why they need them, and as you can quite litteraly tell them (MCPS) to go forth and multiply, they have no way of inspecting your drives in order to get that proof. In addition, the courts cannot order you to give them the information either, as to do so would be a breach
  6. I have a couple of mates ooop norf (Barnsley) who own pubs, and they've seen similar downturns in trade, though fortunately not to the level you have. One of them makes a point of getting his regulars into conversation about why they don't come in as often as before, and he was surprised when most of them told him it WASN'T the smoking ban because he honestly thought (as most do) that was the main cause. Although the ban has a slight effect, it's not enough to stop HIS regulars coming in, most people he's spoken to about it have seen a big rise in their day to day living expences,
  7. If we cannot for some reason visit a venue before hand, we will specifically ask if there is a sound limiter fitted, and if so, are there alternative supplies available to us. The settings on any limiter fitted are irrelevent to us, our (UK based) contract clearly states that we will not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES perform at a venue with a sound limiter or any form of remote power control fitted, and if after our initial visit we find one has been installed later, we will not even unload the van until a suitable alternative supply has been provided. I have only ever had to refer to this
  8. Sounds like someone quoted PMPO not RMS BTW, I've got a 15 year old amp at home rated at 100W RMS P/Ch that will plss all over most of the 1000W amps currently out there :dan+ju:
  9. I use 4 way Duraplugs, with the "live" rail removed and each individual socket connected to its own core in a 10 meter 7 core cable, back to Bulgin plugs, into custom made 19" 3U distro's with each output fused and switched. I also use a number of 6 ways as well, but on these, four of the sockets are wired in two pairs As for extension leads, I try not to use them if at all possible, as the fewer fuses in a supply the easier it is to trace the one that blows. Therefore all my racks also have 16 or 20A 10 meter power cables. HANDY HINT TIME. Fed up of tracing blown fuses in mu
  10. ........ and as they'd probably cost more to "bring up to scratch" than they are worth, are probably only worth keeping as backups. That is, until you can get hold of something a bit better and more reliable. Ultimately though, it's your choice in the end.
  11. Sorry to slip off topic, just a quick note regarding Audiograbber, . . . . Since it became freeware, it now uses the Lamenc.dll encoder I still rip with EAC though, and use Adobe Audition to encode, using the Fraunhofer codec. Back on topic . . . . . . . .
  12. What's that about the cables being "so stiff" ? I've not seen one of these boxes myself, but if it is stiff cable that could be a cause of a potential recurring problem. Why not change it for some decent 4 core flex and a good quality connector ??
  13. The best plug in for Vista is XP, But you have to delete Vista before you install it
  14. The details for that damned awful Elvcon connector are also available on NJD's website if you have a hunt around. Try the Quartet manual... http://www.njd.co.uk/technical/356.pdf it's on page 3, but there's no t!ts
