DallasR 0
Hi all, I'm pretty new to this forum and the DJ scene in general, only been DJ'ing for around a year now. My preferred style is EDM, Big Room, stuff like that. Anyway, I've been offered a gig in one of the biggest clubs in the city which is great, however, I won't be in the main part of the club, I will be kind of off to the side in a corner. Usually this wouldn't be a problem, buuuut, the club manager told me she's looking for "the next David Guetta", but she also said she doesn't want me to play dance music, because the other DJ will be playing that sort of stuff, and after looking at my soundcloud, she said it was "too heavy" for the venue (had stuff like Blasterjaxx, Hardwell, W&W, etc). She also wants me to attract people away from the main dance floor to come and listen to me in the corner haha! Basically, she wants me to be Guetta, but not play remixes or dance music. Seems odd to me. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas or advice? Thanks in advance! :)
mrrawuk 0
I had a similar position working in a Revs club. It's not worth the hassle mate trust me.
