Dan I would becareful here go back to customer and make sure they know the gig is only 2 hours sounds like they want it to over run etc what time is it suposed to finish
Think they want the adults to join in at thr end etc no extra costs as you are having a good time etc been there before.

248 minutes is 4.13 hours
Time for food and other things, round it up to 5 hours.
Quote her your normal rate for 4 hours, say £200, then add an hour at £60 = £260
OR
Just play a little of each track, two hour gig means about 20 records in reality....nice and easy.
You won't have to buy any special tracks and as it is a Friday in December I presume this is an early starter so you can get to another gig too, so two gigs one night, I would like a few more of them if I could please.

I have already got a signed contract for this gig, and it 7:30 till 9:30.
As it for under 16's I charged a children's discounted rate. (£100)
I didnt have another booking for that night and the bonus is it only 20mins awayfrom home.
I Think I will drop the client a email to explain song/time factor tho.
Should be fairly easy night tho dont expect there wont want much mic usuage at that age there just want the music played. I think advise me if Im wrong on this one ?!?!?
Also T&C's which customer has recived and signed for states charges for playing extra's after agreeed times.
It could be the case of while Mum & Dad are sorting party arrangements that birthday person has been told to pick some songs, to keep them out of there way, or quite!
I'm doing exactly the same with my nephew, who's party is this weekend.
So far I have 6 pages of songs
2 drawings of album covers which I apparently don't have! a list of names and big note telling me I have to wear fancy dress, prefably batman and a tiny little gift tag note telling me I'm a cool aunty!
Right now if I was handed DD's playlist I think I would be heaving a big Ppppheeeww!!
