Just wondering how much everyone pays for smoke fluid?

Does it matter what fluids you put in your machine.

Do you know that some manufacturers void your warranty if you use competetors' fluids, Martin for example, they test it by dipping the tank.

Do you know that most fluids available in the UK are all made in one factory in Lancashire?

Yes !!

Can't remember how much last lot cost, about £3 for 5 litres I think

Use brake fluid ,gives better results.... no just kidding though it actually would but the fumes are very bad, what is smoke fluid made from, must be some form of glycol base of sorts, I wonder if its worth the DIY route

There has been a lot of discussion of both smoke fluids and smoke machines in Ireland and in America lately.

For my own part, given the difficulties of using smoke in many venues and the unreliability of the machines and the fluids, I don't really bother that much anymore.

Those people that are using smoke a lot seem to have settled on using Martin machines.

What is the quality of this stuff like? What is the odour from it like?

In the UK, are you having a lot of problems with the budget machines not working?

If you take a look at the threads on ProDJ you will see a lot of mention of this also.

Is a lot of this down to the fluids, as Martin and Le Maitre would claim?

To be fair to them if you run either Martin or Le Maitre machines on Martin smoke fluid, they DO seem to last longer.

In my own mind, I would have said that GBP10/EUR15 per 5L is a reasonable DJ price for generic smoke fluid.

Been paying £15 for 5 litres from local DJ shop (both fog and haze fluid). Not shopped around at all as too lazy and don't use enough to warrent getting too fussed. They know me well in there so be suprised if I wasn't getting an OK deal
