Okay, On the "Site Suggestions" thread it was mentioned that we should have a "Spotlight on....." thread, where we asked one of the veteran D.J's ( picked every month) some questions about his / her career and they could answer them on the forum.
I think this is a good idea, not only will it enable us (nosey) ones to find out more about the D.J behind the Alias, but will give the newbies some useful information.
The questions could be along the lines of "How did you get into D.J'ing" and "Who was your biggest influence", "Where was your first gig and how did it go" - that sort of thing and
NOT anything too personal or to do with Bra Sizes !!!!!
Right first off all we need somebody to set the questions....any volunteers? - or do I have to go and pick on somebody?

Chris
Do you want Gary to PM me the question and I'll cut and paste and put the answers in, or is there another way ?
Chrispy
Jul 9 2003, 02:17 PM
Whichever is easiest...hmmm Gary could either post up the questions and then you post your answers below and either Gary or myself will close and pin the topic or he can P.M you the questions and you can cut and paste both questions and answers in your own thread?.
Maybe the last one would be easier so questions and answers would appear on the same thread at the same time.

Well, I guess that the first question has got to be:
Where did you get that animated Avatar of Kazzachi??? and have you got the rest of it?
I think that perhaps we shouldnt get our first victim...sorry, interviewee to answer any questions until tomorrow, that way most members will be able to add their own questions to the list below....
How long have you been DJ'ing?
What inspired you to become a DJ?
What type of "Do" was your first gig?
How much did you charge (Mikeee please convert this from Shilings and pence to decimal when its your go..)
What equipment did you have to begin with?
Whats the worst/most embarassing thing you've done in front of an audience?
What is your favourite type of function now? EG: Wedding, 18th Birthday party, funeral wake..
Is there anything that you include in your show now, that you wish you'd done/known when you started? (Not equipment, but in human/performer terms)
What do you feel you offer your public, that makes you a better DJ than "the next guy/girl"?
Have you ever bought something for your show that you wish you hadnt? and why?
Whats your next DJ purchase likely to be?
If you could get someone to invent a new piece of disco equipment for your show, what would it be?
What do you think is the best thing about DJ'ing.
What do you think is the worst thing about DJ'ing.
What would make you stop DJ'ing (if anything).
How do you think DJ'ing will change, in the next 5 years?

Please post your (serious) questions below for ADS to answer!
(And Gary....you wern't the 1st person to mention a simularity between ADS' Avatar and Kaz..wonder what they...I mean it could be??.

you also have to ask about age, location, martial status, education level, and what's your mode of transportation! of course, you can just say no comment.....but that's not intresting then!

Yes, we will ask the same questions...and hopefully a few more if you can think of any more
| QUOTE |

I think we'd get away with age, possibly marital status and fave transportation, but given some of the heated times in the chat, I think we'll steer clear of Education...I think that is irrelevant to this industry in any case, and some people here probably didn't even have exams in their day...they were too busy sweeping chimney's or working down th'coal mine for a bowl of gruel a day
.
Location - yeah okay for the oldies but we'll avoid exact details if ever we interview any younger members. However, given the fact we have over 400 Members, and its a monthly thing by the time we come around to you Crooksey you'll have retired
.
Perhaps fortnightly "interviews" would be better!.

How much have you "invested" in equipment?
What was your eason for becoming a DJ?
Approximately how many gigs have you done to date?

And alternatively if my balls get pulled out of the machine (ouch
) then you won't see me for the tinted windows on my new Merc. So if ever you see no new interview or posts from me on Lottery night, then it's safe to assume that my numbers have been drawn and you can all draw straws for who wants to take over!.
