hi guys,

I got into djing a few years back but speacialising in hip hop and have since been giggin for about 5 months.

I have veryy little clue on my 80's music.

Could you help me with a few suggestions of tracks which should be played?

There are loads of 80's compilations around they would give you a start.

To be honest there was quite a few direrent types and styles in the 80's I will list what I would make sure I have with me if this helps but this not to say some one else would disagree well thats music and why there are so many different types of fans so here goes.


Abba made so many hits and styles
Pink floyd The Wall ( in my book one of the best floor fillers of its time)
Jackson and Thriller there are others but I think you will be asked for this
Whitney Houston quite a few to choose from
Tiffany the same
Sinead O'Connor
Gun's an Roses
Bruce Springstien
Prince the Batman theme
Stone Roses
Let's Dance cant think who did this at present but it wil come to me.

Whilst playing my amatuerish 80s set, I played aha - take on me, and the floor cleaered with a women askin me what the f*** i am playing?

Agree with Scottish John, there are so many types of clasic 80's, the choice of what to play will depend on the age of the audience. At 40th B-Days you can play a wider choice. At 18th's stick to popular air-play types. I have an advantage as the 80's is my era! tongue.gif
