do you think we are putting ourselves at risk
doing endless xmas do,s in central london.
hotels full of people partying would be an easy target.
surely people are concerned about the terrorist threat that is very real in these times.
are dj,s charging more for these gigs because of this.
these are my personal concerns as i have been asked to do a large hotel in central london.
thanks for youre views.

I don't think any extra charge can be enough to cover the terrorist threat.
You either accept that this risk is ever present - whether you're shopping, traveling to your day job, or doing a gig - or decide to minimize your risk - mainly by not going in to London at all, or choosing gigs at some remote country hotel.
Personally, the bastards are not going to change the way I go about my life.
Of course you should be charging much more for central London hotels for other reasons like, parking, poor access, and other hassle. (Plus they charge their customers much more.)

Doesn't have to be a big city to be a target.
Who'd have thought that a little town like Warrington would have been a target for a terrorist bomb attack.

I agree we are targets every time we step out side,Like High Fidelity said who thought that Warrington (my home town as well) would of been a target. But its life and no person or group will stop me doing what i want'd to do or when i want to do it. We as DJ's are at risk every time we load/unload our gear but i dont charge more for that. I feel its wrong to make money out of that sort of thing,Like i heard the some hotels in London put there price up after the bombings becouse they new a lot of people couldnt get home that day.
Sorry i'll stop here i was just about to go off on one.

I'm not working in London this Christmas but wouldn't butt an eyelid if I was.
I'm more worried about the congestion charge and parking!
I don't think I could charge a 'danger fee' for london.
In this day and age I suppose, everywhere is a target because the western way of life is a target.
I take my life into my own hands every time I use the car......especially tonight.
Was nearly clipped by a speeding Police Car on the way home.
Go figure?!

You are more at risk by being knocked down by a bus anywhere

it doesn't matter where we might work or when, it's horrible and scary to think but terrorists can and will target anything at anytime so together as a people and country united we must try and get on with our lives as best we can and try not to think about it, life's too short you could knocked down by a bus crossing the street or get elctrocuted by our equipment it's very unlikely but CAN happen

I agree with all the replies so far, London has always been undewr threat from terroist attacks,
if it worries you don't do it, that the only advice I can give.
But I have no problems with working in Central London
