Are there any MP3 dj's out there that regularly use PCDJ or such to ply the trade. We need to find out about where we stand with transfering the files from cd (Ripping) to MP3.

I know you are fishing around on this one. I have been in touch with MCPS and they know less than we do! Sorry mate but did not get to July Meeting at Reading.

By the way you can print out the ini files in excel to make up a book or list of your recordcase. 042.gif Open the Ini. file up with excel and the program will do the conversions. When it asks for what to use as seperators tick the semi-colon option and it will divide the fields for you. Artist & Song title etc. blink.gif
Then delete any irrellevant fields from the page and select sort by A decending order (artists name field).

I use final scratch and have been thinking the same thing i really would like to know 100% the law on this!!

Final Scratch is a REALLY good program/vinyl! I love it! For Mp3 ripping, i use an old, un-updated version of real jukebox. It works, but its so old.....

Yes it is great you can use it with cds as well as the special vinal ive only had it for a month and i love it but i will say make sure you have got a pretty good laptop if anybody is thinking of buying 1!!

Hi folks

I can't work out what this topic is all about. On the one hand it seems to be asking about the legality of transferring files from CD or whatever to MP3 and using it live, and on the other it seems to be asking what program to use.

Firstly, my understanding is that as long as you own a copy of the original track, it's perfectly legal to make a copy for your own use and your own use alone.

Second, I use CDex, it's great, simple to use, fast and user-friendly.

If this topic is nothing like the one I thought it was, I'm sorry *grin*
