Hi all

I'm doing a 70's night soon.

I'm not after a list of songs from the 70's, I think I'm OK with that.

What is favourite tune of the decade?

What 70's tune fills your dancefloor?

I'm just curious!

I pretty much missed out on the 70's but it is fast becoming my favourite musical era. I am playing more and more nowadays, and the audience always respond well to it. Anyway, floorfillers for me include:

Early on:
Steve Harley - Come Up and See Me
Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl

Party time:
Bryan Ferry - Let's Stick Together
Osmonds - Crazy Horses

Singalong:
Boney M - Brown Girl in the Ring

Rock'n'Roll
Showaddywaddy - Under the Moon of Love
Darts - Daddy Cool

Glam
Mud - Tiger Feet
T-Rex - I Love to Boogie

Plus so many other genre's too - disco, punk, soul, heavy metal.

"Tiger Feet by Mud works well usually"

I was asked to 'do a disco' for someone who had been let down by their regular DJ - poor sod had the 'flu........

A good crowd of mixed ages, so I tried the old Tiger Feet routine at what I thought was a suitable point in the evening, and it cleared the floor!! oops.gif

I take it the regular bloke had never played it, and the audience didn't know what to do!! Can't think of any other expanation really. Never happened before, and never since. Knocks you for six, though, when it does happen!

Just goes to show how people get used to a regular DJs play list. Anyhow, I did get a couple of bookings via others that attended the event over the next few months, so things must have been OK.

Pop along to Tesco, they have a great selection of the "I love music" selection, 3 CD's for £6 , there are 2 packs of 3 for that era but it was the decade of various styles so Rock and Pop will need to be sorted, oh dont forget Cliffy boy...I ahve so much music from the 70s decade and I still keep finding loads more, you'll never have enough of the 60s and 70s in your collection, just know the music from then and you'll be surprised how full the floor gets with zimmer frames and kids..
