There are of course many "net Nanny" type pieces of software "out there" which carefully do all sorts of clever bits of artifical intelligence type stuff in order to work out whether certain website, and of course forums, are suitable for access by all.
Some such services are purchased, and configured as optional extras by end users, but in some cases, a selection of Internet Serive Providers utilise such sortware to assess web content.
About 30 mins ago, I tried to access "todays topics" on DJU from my secondary ISP (which has a web-content checker) and couldnt view the page. However, the page appeared dutifully when I accessed it from my main ISP.
Had I been a potential new member with only the first ISP accessable to me, I'd have passed DJU by; a loss on both sides.
I adjusted 3 posts (different members) and tried accessing the "todays topics/posts" again, from the content-monitored ISP, and...was able to view the entire page of posts. I've PM'd the members concerned.
For this reason, we do have an element in the DJU Code of Conduct, which asks members not to use or disguise obvious "colourful" words for this reason; so that as many ISP's and people can access DJU. This element reads:
