Interested to hear what tracks others find work best when requested for Jive, i.e. guests who want to dance Jive.

Tracks that work well for me include
Beatles-I saw her standing there
Everly Bros-Bye bye love
Bill Hailey-Rock around the clock
Hugmaster
Hi

This might sound odd, but these always work well...

Beatles, I saw her standing there
Bill haley, Rock around the clock
Brian Setza Orchestra, Jump jive and wail
Adam Ant, Goody Two shoes
Shakin' Stevens, This ol' house

If you're feelin brave you can slot in Kenny Loggins, Footloose and Bucks Fizz, makin' your mind up in there somewhere.

The good old grease soundtrack works at some gigs
After grease melody mix straight into hand jive and then hound dog maybe for a 3 set!
Kingy
Try "Queen of hearts" by Dave Edmunds. I stumbled across this as a request once and was really surprised!

I find personally that the Jive Bunny Mastermix "Thats What I Like" works very well. If not Sam Cooke-Twistin the night away, Cliff Richard - Do you wanna dance, Brenda Lee-Jump the broomstick !!
ryandio
Here's a short set I played recently, stradles most eras. in the order played starting with ....

Cliff Richard - Move It
Brian Setzer - Summertime Blues
Curtis Lee - Under the Moon of Love
Showaddywaddy - Hey Rock 'n' Roll
Racey - Some Girls

others that I find go down well, apart from the stable fodder of Bill Haley, Elvis, Eddie Cochran etc etc are

The Blasters - Marie Marie (Shaking Stevens covered it)
Steve Gibbons Band - Tulane
Buddy Holly - Rave On
Hank Mizzell - Jungle Rock

thumbdown.gif Refuse to play Jive Bunny, never been asked for either, thankfully
