Hi all.

Has anyone hired any Dancefloors? in particular, I'm planning well ahead for my wife's 40th and I need to hire a dancefloor HOWEVER, i'd like to go all out and hire one of those cool disco ones which changes colors - you know the look in saturday night fever.

Would anyone know where I can hire such a beast or is it best to get a soldering iron out?

Great, I just tried them but nobody is in. So if anyone has any other recommendations, please do not hesitate to add them to this topic. the next thing I got to worry about is whether they will be able to deliever them.

Let us know what you find out Pareshj.

It would be great to offer these to customers, but I would want a supplier who came and set it up (I imagine that they are very heavy and time consuming) and I suspect too expensive.

Yep too right, I spoke to a Jon who was a very knowledgeable chappie who did the quotes. Their webwebsite site is not up to date at the moment and they are going through a phase of upgrading with new pictures and movies of their products.

They gave me 2 options
A 12 panel (3.75m2) setup or a 16 panel setup (5mx5m)and the price for the 16 was about £2k + delivery inc delievery, setup and computers).

Jon was very enthusiastic and I must admit I was getting excited with his descrioptions of it. He's a nice guy as he described the quality of the floor, preparations of the surface and its overall setup - he said that it is unlike many other cheaper led dancefloors which might be dirty or may have some leds in panels broken. Their panels are easily replaceable and very clean as they make subtle adjustments to the product to make it very flexible in terms of operating and cleaning. It sounds like each panel weighs a bit too.

He said the dancefloor really does impress anyone who sees it, I felt the price was quite high for an evenings worth of fun so still am thinking about it. The cost of buying their led dancefloors sounds like it will fall in the region of 30k so it must be a good product. He said he will be sending me screenshots so if I can, I will attach them here.

Here's one of the floors offered by a New Zealand company. Very groovy:
