Hey all
I have just bought a DM905 off ebay (any one here......?)....
this has come with nothing other than the mixer itself.
Simple to find another ac adapter, but nowhere does it say which way round the polarity of the socket is...... Rod + or -
Anybody out there know ????
Before i guess and break my new toy.....

Do you have a multimeter? If so, switch it to low-ohms and put the probes on the socket pins at the back of the mixer. Note the reading. Then swap the probe polarity and measure again. Note which way round the probes are when you get the highest resistance reading (ie smallest needle deflection on the meter.) Then the positive supply pin is the one which the black probe went on.
This is assuming the Numark requires a DC adapter. Some require an AC adapter in which case polarity doesnt matter.
Another way which sometimes works is to buzz (on continuity) from the power in socket to the phono input shrouds on the mixer section. The shrouds will be connected to the -ve input pin.

Usually doesn't matter if you get the polarity wrong - it just won't work!
What I mean is, if that you plug in a muti-adapter (getting voltage correct) and the polarity does not match the mixer, then it shouldn't be damaged. Just slide the control to the correct pos. and there you go.
Anyway, I am assuming this is now resolved.

thanks for all the replies........
tried the adapter both ways and the mixer "powers on" but goes off straight away.
(the output LED's light up and then go out immediately, no power LED).
Sound like its knackered to anyone else....
Have checked the adapter, is more than able to supply enough current.
Oh well, live and ebay, unless anyone has any suggestions ?

Just to make sure, try the adapter with another bit of kit.
