Two days before I do their wedding, the groom has sent me an email with regard to the music he would like. This is on top of their previous list which includes the proviso's of NO CHEESE and NO 80's.

First song on the request list is Wham - I'm Your Man and Edge of Heaven. Maybe not cheese, but definitely 80's. stupid.gif

Anyway, his email stipulates that playing the best Ibiza dance tunes from the last five years will be very well received.

I have loads of stuff but I'm not really into it. So, would those of you with a degree in Ibiza dance music please help me out - what do you think are the best Ibiza dance tunes over the last five years?

Thanks!

Are we talking trance, chillout, house, or a good mixture? If it's a good mixture, you would not go too far wrong using this cd:
CD Pool top 100

Don't forget to put the following in your 'record box':

Energy 52 - Cafe del mar
Faithless - insomnia
Groove Armada - At the river

Also, have a 'butchers at the eebeefa anfums section of my website (last link on the left). There is a list which stopped in 2002!!!

Hi Brian...you tell me what they mean! Their two first dances (huh?) are from a Cafe del Mar cd and Deep Dish's latest album.

I like the linked CD, good reference if nothing else. I probably have 50% of those tracks spread across a load of CD'a already - have to get some lists written up tonight....

Well, it sounds to me like you are in for a treat. The Cafe del mar series of CDs contains some really good tunes, a fair bit being chillout, some you may recognise (like Dusty Springfield - the look of love for instance). Go with the flow, I assume they are bringing those CDs, play what they want.

I don't have the Deep Dish album, but it is on my shopping list. As you probably know, this duo are responsible for doing a awesome mix of Sandy B - Make the world go round which allways sets dancefloors on fire when the bassline drops. Deep Dish did a great track last year called Flashdance.

I have a copy of the linked CD which I do not use often. If you want, I can special deliver it to you to borrow...0794 119 1194. Bear in mind it is not 12" full length versions though.

That's an incredibly kind offer thanks Brian, I won't take you up on it though with the gig being tomorrow.

I will only be playing tracks I know so from the list you've supplied I shall be using stuff like Deep Dish - Flashdance, Faithless - Insomnia and Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar.

What I will do though, is get a list up of the songs on the CD you mentioned together, and prepare a few sets from that. I want to use tomorrow night to play some other fave's of mine too. Stuff like Where's Your Head At, Ebeneezer Goode, Don't Stop Movin' (probably S-Club, definitely Livin Joy) and, if the mood is right, Tori Amos's Professional Widow and Everything But The Girl's Missing (Todd Terry mix of course!)

In many ways, I can't wait!!! In others, I just know they'll be a bunch of "...can you play some R&B..."

Thanks for your help and advice again matey boy.
