I've got the distinct feeling that my lights and dj stand could do with a bit of a rejuvination. (They're not really bad, but have seen better days!) 1087.gif

With this in mind, I was thinking Hammerite Metal Paint (Smooth)...

Anyone have any other ideas? Ive never had to do it before (equipment pretty much brought new) so dont know if there are any better paints to do this?

Theres no rust etc, just scrapes where the poles have joined and where a stand has nicked/scratched a couple of lights in transit...

Many thanks!

Matt Black Hammerite on metal and Black Board paint on wood, keeps it easy for "touching up" in the future.

Gloss Paint if you want a shinny finish but if you want a matt finish then use oil based eggshell.

Dont forget to sand down the poles etc

And if you are not confident in your painting abilities, go with the Hammerite hammered finish it looks ok and hides all those nasty brush marks etc.

...does anyone fancy coming round to give mine a bit of a make over!

wub.gif Would you like a shiny finish or the Hammerite 'touched up' ROFL

hammerite on metal is good - i always use international floor paint on all wooden stuff - its great at resisting scuffing etc really hard wearing

Sin... are you offering? I get the old man to do all mine.. which reminds me, it really does need a bit of a touch up!
The Spindoctor
Well I would offer but theold man does all yours, and of course never turn your back on a woman with loaded umbrella!!
kazzachi
Thank you sin, unluckily the old boy is working all around this week so guess what... now this subject has been bought up I guess I am going to have to Do It Myself!!! As you can imagine, my gear does take a bit of a hammering so think I really should give it a tart up before doing the other Djs wedding on saturday....... otherwise I could get back to find a post about some woman with her tatty old gear (but it sound great!!) fear.gif

Is that any way to talk about your nearest and dearest?

I have a custom made stand that has my logo machined in it "Nightsounds". I've had it for years, it's made from chipboard! tough as nails, foldable, and have always used cellulose matt black car paint. It is cheap, very quick drying and seems to be hard wearing! providing it is painted outside the smell goes very quickly.
The Spindoctor
Of course you can paint it indoors and add a whole new dimension to the evening as you float slowly round the room!!
