Any thoughts/experiences with the American Audio range of cd players.
Seems a lot of features for not much cash.
Cheers.
Gary
Many of the American Audio current models are simply some of the Citronic, Omnitronic, Stanton, Reloop. Synq Audio and dozens of other "same buttons, different logo and casing colour".

and American Audio's DCD-PRO1000

If you ordered and paid for 1000+ units from same factory group who produces these, you could launch the "Cookiecat CC CD-1XYZ", resplendant in your own colours, and emblazened with your own logo, ready by a week next Tuesday... Coming to a docking crate near you....

Coincidentally both Citronic and American Audio are Prolight brands,
transeurope
Hmm, I think that Citronic is *fanfare* [deep voice] "now a part of the Skytronic Group". Impressive huh????? Stop laughing at the back...

Anyway, I think there are many old hands in the north of england who may float around from company to company and perhaps cause the Prolight/Citronic confusion unwittingly.

As for American Audio, brilliant now, seriously. Years ago they were so horrible, so keep that in mind if you are talking to any old hands whose opinion, honestly given, may not reflect current realities.

I know that what Gary says is right about the same manufacturer and X-amount of units etc, however some people swear to me that the firmware, [machine code computer programme] of American audio products is superior. This may be a false impression caused by machine-to-machine tolerances or it may be reality.

I don't know. I throw it in for what it is worth.
