Every now and then you hear about a good mashup. I have heard a few really good ones in the past like:

Kylie vs Ludacris - can't lick you out outta my bed
Queen vs Beatles - crazy little fool

What are the best ones you have heard? What about making one - anyone had a go? Or what do you think will work well?

I have the Kylie vs Ludacris - can't lick you out outta my bed. It also had Kylie Vs Left Eye on the other side, which actually worked better (but wasn't as useable for mobile work as the track isn't as well known).

I used to get a couple of the best ones every month, but for the past 6 months there don't seam to be as many new ones around, just the same old stuff.

Last one I heard was Mylo Vs Miami Sound Machine. I didn't buy it because there was something odd about the timing. I think the two tracks are two beats out or something, and it just sounds wrong.

i hav a favourite it's eminem - superman VS paul van dyke - for an angel
it's called superman for an angel

this song DOES contain explicit lyrics on it from eminem, so i won't play it at a private function but have played in a few clubs and uni baqrs in liverppol, even been asked to sell or copy and answer was big NO, but an absolute wicked dance track have only used it maybe 4 or 5 times since jan 2003 when i got it but still a wicked tune

has anybody heard of it or has it and never played or tried it out?????

Darude vs Uproar - Darude is on fire

A good one that i have is Stevie Wonder - Superstition Vs Chemical Brothers - Galvanise.

I like it and have played it out a couple of times, works well.

That mylo Vs miama sound machine is gona be released to the charts i think, i know what you mean about the timing, it does sound a bit off. But i still like it!

Got Manny Face's Remixes Vol. 1 last week and there are some interesting mixes on there. There's a mashup of Usher's Yeah with Michael Jackson's Billie Jean (which I'm still not sure about, to be honest), but also some wicked reworkings of Nas tracks (Bridging the Gap and I Know I Can) and a remix of Candy Shop (50 cent) with an excellent laidback jazzy vibe on it.

I've also got a load of Reggaeton-type remixes. For example Kool Kid's got a couple of CD's with stuff like Snoop Dogg's Drop it Like It's Hot over Don Omar's Dale Don Dale.

If you're into this kind of thing, there are some great mashup podcasts out there. My current favourite is

MashupTown

There are some wicked mixes on there - check out

The Doors vs. Seseme Street vs. The Macarena, and the genius

The Clash vs. The Killers

Cheers,

Jack.
