The Denon DN-X900 takes the DJ mixer to new heights with a groundbreaking combination of digital and analog technologies. The DN-X900 comprises the same feature set as the analog DN-X500, but adds numerous digital enhancements. In addition to eight analog line inputs and three phono switchable, the DN-X900 offers four digital inputs on coaxial connections. Two digital outputs are also provided in S/PDIF coaxial and TOSLINK formats.

A Track Mark feature (Track ID) allows DJs to make a new track on a CD burner without ever removing hands from the mixer. A Zone Output with volume adjust is also provided.

Both the DN-X500 and DN-X900 are compatible with the optional ACD-46 Rotary Knob Kit, enabling a rotary control to be substituted for any channel fader. Any or all four of the channel faders may be replaced with rotary controls, making the DN-X500 and DN-X900 perfect choices for either fader- or knob-style DJs.

The Denon DJ DN-X500 and DN-X900 are available September/October respectively, 2005

Is this a fully digital mixer? With digital inputs direct to digital signal processing (mixing, eq, etc) and digital output?

The statement "combination of digital and analog technologies" suggests an analogue mixer with digital inputs and outputs. Is that the case?

I thought that you'd like the Track Mark Feature Brian, for when you're recording your mixes to a digital device, and wanting key points of the mix to show as a separate track when burnt to CD, even with continuous music playback.

And heres the back. Including its 4 digital inputs, 2 digital outs (one optical, one SPDIF, XLR Main Outs, XLR Booth Outs, Main phono Outs, Record Outs Zone Outs (handy for running additional amps), (thats 4 x full range outs), Bass/Woofer output with adjustable Freq setting, 2 Mic ins, a separate mic effect loop in/out (for special effects or simply an equaliser just for your mic), 3 grounding points for vinyl decks, stereo send/returns, 4 fader starts... yummy!

I've only got the approximate US prices at the moment. Which is

$599 MAP DN-X900 (MAP = Minimum advertised price).

With currency conversions, UK rip-off tax, UK rip-off customs and Excuse(!), VAT etc,etc... you might as well just swap the $ for a £.

I will, however, let you know a more exact UK price as soon as I get one - hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

I'll get more details, and an in-depth review as soon as I can.

UK RRP is £479 -

So, average sort of street price, with a bit of shopping around etc - I would imagine that you'd probably be able to find one for under £430...ish.
