I have the chance of getting one of these tiny little smoke machines (PowerFog Goblin) cheap from a liquidation sale They were selling for £300 a couple of years or so ago , so at less than a 1/3rd of that I thought it would be a good buy so have one on reserve untill any of you advises me for or against it ;) I do have another machine but this one is really small only 1kg fits in the glovebox , and would do for small room gigs (Pub) ? it says it is a 1000 Cu. Ft Minute output , so i wouldnt imagine it would choke anyone laugh.gif

Comments ??

It is described as the worlds smallest smoke machine smile.gif

Hmmm, the way that you've said that its "less than a third of its original price" (of £300) but not said "less than a quarter), suggests that they're after somewhere between £75~100. (bit of an assumption on my part there!)

Personally, when something is as unique as this (A smoke machine that fits in a glove box), I would tend to be concerned over it reliability. And remembering that its a liquidation sale, that would concern me over spare parts, service etc. OK, the liquidation sale might be a store/distributor, rather than the tiny smoke machine manufacturers, but overall I'd be hesitant, especially given some of the recent news about the concerns of "theatrical smoke" not being heated correctly (eg: Type "A" machine with cheaper 3rd party fluid, not being heated to the correct vapourisation temperature and leaving Ethylene glycol and Propylene glycol in quantity, in the output.

There are a few regular-sized smoke machines for the same money (if my assumption above of £75~ is close), which may have less compromises than a miniturised machine. Of course, A tiny machine might have its benefits, eg: hiding one inside a lightscreen etc.

Last halloween, I put a small smoke machine (the smallest Antari one) at the bottom of a new/clean metal dustbin (which we took back to argos the next day under their 16 day money back guarantee!), with an upward pointing Par 64 lamp with green filter. We left the machine running all night on a low constant output...the cauldron effect was superb...so small smoke machines have their uses...

Hi Gary, thanks for your comments.

Some further information , this machine is still in production and made by "The Smoke Co" in the UK they also make smoke and haze fluid , which I have used with good clean results . smile.gif
Chrispy
Argghhhhhhh!, Smoke Co, twice the cost of everybody else's machines.

I was looking at their range at the Plasa last year, where they were trying to get two of their demo machines TO WORK!!!.

In short...I wouldn't let YOU buy ME one smile.gif . From experience:- I have a Smoke Co Hazer...it's been back to them three times in 12 months and it still Pi censored.gif es out more fluid over the dancefloor than it actually consumes. Maybe I should get a plumber to look at it!.
