Hi - doing a stafff barbacue disco for a company which employs quite a lot of European people. Just wondering if there are any special tunes that would suit. Mostly Spanish, Norwegian and German people will be attending.

many thanks again

German people will be attending.

I'd stay away from tunes such as:

Frankie Goes To Hollywood: When two tribes go to war.
Edwin Starr: War! (What is it good for).
Culture Club: The war Song...
Henri Mancini: Theme tune to The Pink Pantzer biggrin.gif

etc,etc...also I'd avoid comedy clips from a certain episode of "Fawlty Towers" (Don't mention the war)

Other than that, I'd play to the ages there - rather than their nationailties. If they are early twenties (clubby age) non-UK'ers then go for a couple of lyric-less club music tunes, the ol' (ol' ol') Café Del Mar, Ian Van dahl (or whatever is name was), and that sorta thing.

Strange in the last month I have done a wedding for the French, Swedish, Polish, Check and Germans

The wedding I'm doing in a fortnight at the posh hotel in Grange over Sands is a multi national affair.

I got the playlist back 2 days ago, here it is:

Beatles - no particular song
60's music

Lot's of guidance for me there then hide.gif

I had a look at most of the Euro charts - same as uk mostly
just a few 'local tunes'

With the norwegian crowd its mostly like the uk charts, if you need some norwegian stuff then pm me and i can put a couple of singles in the post for you, takes 4 days by the way.

And the singles in Norway only cost £48.90 each rolleyes.gif

Hopefully the hardest bit will be lugging the gear up and down stairs as they don't have a lift wallbash.gif

I'll just do my ussual, play it by ear, watch the punters for tapping feet etc.

Suppose I better buy Zorba The Greek, just in case. rolleyes.gif

Couple of suggestions:)

Anything by the Gypsy Kings goes down a storm with any European crowd

also Ritmo De La Noche:)

European people tend to have a wider taste in music, as always speak to the party organizer and find out what kind of music they really want to hear:)
