Hi guys,
Pretty much what it says in the title! I am looking to get a job in a DJ shop or possibly a record shop (not a big one like HMV but a small one) as i have now been sitting at home for the past couple of months with no job except for gigs at the weekends, and to be honest i'm getting bored! lol. So if anyone knows of any DJ shops in Kent, preferably around Canterbury area but i will travel, please let me know!

Thanks very much

Hi Stu

New shop opened recently in tenterden (bit out of the way - but?) - will try to dig out some details for you. Other than that have you had a flick through the yellow pages / yell.com.

Give any that look interesting a call and try to get a name if possible, then send them an intro letter and end by saying that you would love the opportunity to have a brief chat with them just to introduce yourself, and will phone them within the next week to try to make an appointment at a time convienient to them. Then call them (the letter even if thrown straight in the bin gives you a start point (hook) to hang your phone conversation on - you can even start by saying - did you receive the letter I sent or did it get filed in the round filing cabinet under the desk? - Any ways then try to get a interview / meeting with them. - This is a pretty standard sales technique. If it sounds like something you think is worth a go and would like any further help or advise please feel free to drop me an email.

Stu, this retailer is JBs, you will find a link on the SEDA resources page to them as we are expecting to welcome them at a future meeting. However, they are nowhere near Canterbury.

Good retailer, great advice given.
