Im looking into getting into karaoke as I already run a mobile disco.
The only thing i`m looking for is another mic. I currently use a cheap numark mic that does the job well for dj work. Never had no problems with this.
However, what else would you recommend?
Is it worth getting another cheap numark mic?
Im not worried about wireless/radio etc as it is only an addition to the disco , not a seperate outfit.

Cheap corded mics are best for the simple reason they are cheap to replace WHEN, not if they get damaged.

If you want a mic thats going to last and can take the punishment that its going to get with karaoke then the shure sm58 is hard to beat and you can pick them up at a reasonable price these days

I use "The Singing Machine" cordless Mics, Has 2 wireless Mics come with it and 1 receiver. This is of excellent quality and end up using it myself sometimes. This are priced from around £40ish. Also there is a HOMEMIX version which is the same. I prefer to use Cheap Cordless Mics as I find these dont break easier as corded, as the Karaoke Singer cant swing the mic on its poor cable. I have a Few Beer Towels I put on the side and get the guests to take them from it and put it back, so they dont get any hammering on them

Hope this helps,

I wouldn't pay much for karaoke mics if you see how often people scream down the and clunk them down on the table with no respect. I've even seen drunk people use them to swipe their mates round the head.

I would stick with corded mics personally as they WILL get broken but them there is more risk of trippeing on cables etc. Make sure if you do go for corded mics you buy ones where you can detatch the cable.

Best mics for karaoke are NO MICS tongue.gif

How about 3 reasonable quality mics, from a well known manufacturer for £22.

Oh...and that includes a carry case - but not leads.

Also invest in some windshields, this will save you having to clean out any gunk that your "guests" might leave behind scared.gif

Many Thanks to all that has responded.

As everyone has said, didnt want to spend too much as I know what some "punters" can be like!!!
I will try maplins as I only live down the road and I could do with a spare mic or two by the end of the week.

Cheers

Shure c606 . I use these. Cheap (around £25) and with them being shure you can rely on them being decent.
