Continuation of the topic last week on do teenagers etc have respect? Sorry cudnt find it?
My nearly 17yr old daughter went shoppin to liverpool on sat (just gone) for stuff for her hols
About 4pm 2 girls went up to her and smacked her in the face..in daylight on the platform of the central train station...she went down on the floor and was then kicked and punched several times befor someone walked up and interviened. They took her bag which had some holiday stuff in, took her purse and mp3 player. One of the girls shouted you Bit** whilst they were kicking her! Ive been fuming ever since at the pure evilness from these two girls...luckily there was a 3rd girl who was with them who would not take part and was completely shocked of what her mates had done, she told the police there names and they have both been arrested, the police say they will prob get cautioned coz of their age...what a joke!

Can understand your frustration - these people have no respect for anyone and don't realise/appreciate/care about the effects of their actions on their victims - then when they get let off with a slapped wrist it makes the whole situation even worse for the innocent party.

Agreed, I could come and hit you in the face for no reason and get 'told off' and I'd promised not to do it again and that would be the end of it, no hardship for me at all.
But if I was caught speeding at 35mph on the way home I would have points, a heavey penalty etc etc etc

Too many 'Do-Gooders' in this world

. Tough on Victims, soft on crime. Like I've said before, there are no boundaries shown to children anymore, they push to find their limits in childhood, find there are non and that they are virtually above the law, and take this attitude into adulthood.
I laugh to see parents concerned about their kids finishing school and walking home in the dark during the winter months, yet these are the same parents whose kids are out on the streets causing havoc at 11 or 12 at night

. I think under 16's should be under a curfew, there are far too many of them hanging about causing trouble late at night.

We are very close to leaving this country because of crap like this. If we didn't have the young kids we'd be gone already. I am beginning to hate Britain.

Don't start me off........................
Life sentence should not mean 6 years and a parole, in fact no parole FULLSTOP
Prisions should be cold, damp, ugly building with no facities whatsoever, except a bucket, no TV, Radio etc, one call 6'x3', no window, just the bucket, meals should be once a day consiting of GM crops so we can be sure that they are safe for human consumption.
Get all the drug dealers, put them on an island and let our army and navy boys and girls test thier skills against them
Get all rapists into one place and test all new chemicials on them instead of animals, the very first test for each would involve a blunt knife though, OH and no painkillers for any of them. If they do need to be killed do it slowly.
An eye for an eye, except double that theory, you break my arm, I am allowed to break both your arms
Teenagers curfew at 2100hrs
Legal driving age up'd to at least 24
Legal drinking age up'd to at least 24
Baseball caps banned, anyone caught with one onto another specail island....

Why should you have to feel that you are being driven away from your own country?. If the nation stood up for itself, instead of being doormats then we wouldn't be in this situation. Ask yourself why Oz and France don't have this problem?, because there would be national uproar, blockades, protests etc if it did start becoming like the UK, however we have become sheep, just following the pack and accepting whatever hand is dealt to us.

Sorry to hear about what happened to your daughter - I'm glad they were arrested. What punishment they get is another matter.
However, can I put forward another opinion?
Personally, I don't go along with the whole "youth of today have no respect, things were better in my day, if you were bad 20 / 30 / 40 years ago the local bobby gave you a clip round the ear" stance. That's exactly what our parents said and what their parents said and I don't believe it was true then either. I was brought up in Glasgow. When I was at school there were major gangs roaming around and causing real damage to people and property. In my first year at High School 2 kids were killed in my school - one of them actually AT school. I can remember sitting on a park bench with a friend when a group of lads came up behind me and gave me a kicking for no reason. This was in the 70's - it wasn't rosy, it was frequently nasty. Bad things used to happen back then too - this is NOT a new phenomenon. I also remember that most discos I attended ended in massive punch-ups - in the past 5 years I haven't played at a single gig where there has been trouble.
Nowadays I have 2 young kids and take an interest in what is going on. Sure, there are still groups of kids roaming the streets, sure they sometimes make you walk round them in the street, but I haven't heard of them beating anyone up or stabbing people as happened when I was that age. And to be honest, most of the kids I see and know are just acting like teenagers - like I did. They are trying to break away from their parents, break away from being children, trying to assert themselves - it's called growing up and we all went through it.
None of this excuses the louts that attacked Jeff's daughter and I really hope they don't get away with it. I had a running battle with a small crowd of lads last year who were making a nuisance of themselves and would gladly have thumped them - but when they realised I was serious, the problems stopped. I'm not saying these things don't happen, all I'm saying is that IMHO opinion it was far worse when I was that age. I know loads of teenagers who are polite, well-behaved, look after others, do good work in the community. Of course there is a minority who have no respect for anything - but my point is that it has always been like that.
And as for leaving the UK - I've worked all over the world and it's no better. I've been in the middle of a city centre riot in Germany, I've been mugged and robbed in France, I've been forced to jump in front of a car in the USA in order to escape some nutters - it's the same the world over. France has a massive problem with youth crime. The unemployment rate is very high and there are certain sections of society that feel they have absolutely nothing to lose. There are pitched battles on the streets, but we don't hear about it - that's the only difference. I've never been to Australia, but what springs to mind? The number of backpackers that have been murdered in the last few years, hostels burned to the ground, women thrown off bridges. The grass is always greener my friends. I'd be interested in Eskie's take on this as our resident globetrotter.
Actually, when I come to think of it - the answer is..........leave the cities. I live in the sticks now and I love it. Move out of the cities!!!!!!!
Just my 2 cents.
Jack.
SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTER JEFF,
THERE IS NO RESPECT NOWADAYS TO YOUR ELDERS FROM KIDS WHATSOEVER
THESE LITTLE BARSTEWARDS GET AWAY LITERALLY WITH MURDER THESE DAYS
YEARS AGO IF YOU WERE A KID AND MISBEHAVED OR DISRESPECTED YOU GOT A CLIP ROUND THE EAR AND IT WORKED.
TRY IT NOW AND YOU GET SUED, EVEN LOOK AT PARENTS FOR SMACKING(WITHIN REASON) THEIR OWN CHILDREN AND GETTING DONE FOR IT.
UNFORTUNATELY THIS COUNTRY HASS FELL APART AT THE SEEMS AND GONE TO PC.
I AGREE WITH OTHER COMMENTS OF: IF YOU COMMIT MURDER AND FOUND GUILTY WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT = BRING BACK HANGING.
IF YOU GET LIFE IT MEANS LIFE = NOT OUT IN 6 OR 7 YEARS AND ON TAG FOR GOOD BEHAVIOUR.
IF YOU STEAL = GET YOUR FINGERS OR A HAND CUT OFF
IN ORDER FOR A PAEDOFILE NOT ALLOWED TO REOFFEND = CASTRATE THEM WITH NO ANAESTETIC AND BEFORE YOU DO PUT THEM IN A ROOM WITH THAT CHILDS MUMS AND AUNTIES AND COUSINS OR WHOEVER GIVE THEM AN HOUR THEN CASTRATE THEM.
GIV JUNKIES AN ISLAND SOMEWHER GIVE THEM DRUGS LET THEM O.D AND KILL THEMSELVES.
A LOCAL SOCIAL CLUB WHERE I DRINK BY MY HOUSE I HAVE HAD TO SPEND THE LAST FEW DAYS WITH SOME PEOPLE CLEARING THE KIDS OUT DUE TO NO RESPECT FOR THE CLUB STAFF AND PATRONS.
EVEN GOT THREATENED BY ONE LITTLE

AND TOLD HE'S BRINGING HIS DAD UP FOR ME. I KNOW HIS DAD AND WENT AROUND TO SEE HIS DAD AND TOLD HIM WHAT HE'D BEEN DOING AND SAT IN THE HOUSE WAITING FOR HIM TO COME HOME. WHEN HE CAME IN I WAS HIDING IN A CUPBOARD AND THE DAD SAID TO HIM I BELIEVE FOGGY'S BEEN GIVING YOU A HRD TIME DO YOU KNOW WHY HE SAID WE HAVN'T DONE ANYTHING HE'S JUST PICKING ON US FOR NOTHING THEN I CAME OUT THE CUPBOARD AND THE COLOUR DRAINED FROM HIS FACE AND HE GOT BELTED BY HIS DAD.
WHAT CAN WE DO

Thanks to everybody for the comments, wasny sure if i should put in on the forum as its not really to do with djing!
My daughter physically is fine just a few cuts and bruises, mentally she is very shocked, as nothing like this has ever happened before even at school!
I agree with all the comments and appreciate your opinions, i dont think all teenagers are bad obviously, majority are good kids....but i think they should be made to do at least community service for 6 months like cleaning all the public toilets in the area etc etc .....as a slap on the wrist wont deter any of these mindless kids...bring back Alcatraz, on the mersey! How much of this behaviour is down to the parenting or lack of it? Divorce is no excuse, i was left with 2 kids age 3 and 8 (by my lovely xwife) for years before i met my 2nd wife, my kids are respectful, honest,(well nearly honest...who ate the last choc biscuit not me dad) and know the boundarys of behaviour. single parent blame is no excuse. Lack of parenting skills i think is the main reason?

You've hot the nail on the head with parenting Jeff. The only reason these little thugs get away with it is because they haven't been pulled into line by their parents when they've overstepped the mark in the past.
Cheers,
Jack.

Well said, and I think the reason for that is that some parents these days are little more than children themselves.
