Here's one I should know after 25 years lugging gear around for a living...but I don't.
I have recently acquired a pair of mint Studiomaster KV15's (the white ones)I've been after a pair of these for years to match ny Studiomaster amp, and they look so cool...however....
they are 4ohms each!
I had planned to link to my Electrovoice Eliminators (8ohm) for bigger gigs, along with my JBL powered subs, however this takes the ohms to below 4.
Is there anything I can add to the Studiomasters to make their ohms up to 8 (a resistor perhaps?) I think the answer is no, but confirmation would be welcome.

PS Anybody got a pair of Studiomaster bass bins in white? Did they make them?
Thanks
Kingy
The only really succesful way of doing this is to change the driver for an 8 ohm one. This would also make the cab less efficient though.

Adding a resistor in theory would work, but it would need to be a 200 - 300W wirewound one, bolted to a massive heatsink and fan cooled tongue.gif . It's not really practical and it could create problems of its own.

Why not invest in an extra Amp?, they are certainly cheap enough these days and you could run the EV's from one amp and the Studiomaster from the other.

Yeh, but they're the really cool white drivers, and I don't fancy whitewashing any others :o)
