Flip-flop/relay play (as soon as one song ends, the other deck starts)
Plays mp3's
Pitch bend
Looping facility
Anti-shock protection of some sort

FrankieJ has just brought one, don't know what he got, he might be along soon to help out.

I would recommend the Denon DN D4000 although it is slightly over your budget (around £430) but worth every penny.

It has every feature you require and is built to Denon's usual high standards.

I'm interested now! What is the flip flop think about?

Say you put an album in each tray, switch on the flip flop play and the unit will play track 1 on the first disc, then play track 1 on the second disc, then track 2 on the first disc and so on and so forth.....

My favourite toy on the Denon DN D4000 is the brake feature rolleyes.gif

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Gotta disagree with you on that one.... although the Denon DN-D4000 certainly has lotsa great features...especially the MP3 Indexing, where you can be playing a track from the CD, and still search through all the MP3's on the same CD alphabetically either by artist name or track name etc.

Although you're on a mid-price budget there Otronics, I wouldn't say that the DN-D4000 is the best you could get in that price range... although the make is definately correct...

Heres what I'm going on about....

The NEW Denon DN-D4500 dual rack mount CD-deck.
otronics
Thanks all.

"Soon" is when I have cash as I do not currently have this "budget". whistling.gif

One of the radio stations I work out uses the Denon decks (DN-D4000). They are excellent and include all the features I require.

Something to think about though.

I also seem to recall the next fw models up from the DN-D4000 - the one with LOADS of buttons on. Whats that like (just out of interest)?
Steve_Mitchell
DEFO DEFO DEFO DN-D4000 . Save up a bit longer. you won`t regret it.
Gary
urm...there wont be much price difference between todays price on a DN-D4000, and the stable price on a DN-D4500, once they're in stock everywhere.

So, little or no more saving required between a DN-D4000 or the new DN-D4500

Well, as of today, the next model up from the DN-D4000, is of course, the new DN-D4500.

But, next up from those are the DN-D6000, which is a dual, rack-mount version of the DN-S1000 table top CD-deck. The 6000 has touch sensitive platter, built-in effects etc.

Up from that, you're then into the golden cream (I think I mixed a metaphor) of dual CD-decks. The DN-D9000 - they're great fun, virtually a production station rather than just a CD-deck enabling 4 seamless loops, 2 seamless splices, simultaneous mixing of any two tracks from the same CD - 4 x 15 second samplers, several built-in effects etc,etc,etc....

now the News of the 4500 is out , you will find there are some bargin prices to be had on the 4000

The brake feature, which is on several of the Denon CD-decks, basically simulates the sound you'd get if you switched off a vinyl turntable while it was still pplllllaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggggg biggrin.gif

The actual time taken for the brake effect to come to a complete stop is adjustable from virtually instant to about 6 seconds. Good for mixes etc.

Nice one will have to get one now

Denon DN D4000

Steve said it

Ive just bought a denon 4000 not that long ago myself. For the price its a lovely piece of kit. It does all the stuff i wanted featurewise on it. Also having CD Text on the player is very handy also. Including the way you can change the presets on a menu on it.

Before that i had a Numark CDN22 MK3. When id finished a wedding job i was doing i took the disc out. I forgot to close the drawer again. I boxed my cds up again. The cd drawer was still open and i smacked the drawer with my big cd box
it snapped something on the mechanism on the inside of the drawer of my cdn22. oops.gif I needed a new twin cd player. I checked out a demo of the denon before i bought it and i was impressed with it. Plus i can also preset the drawer autoclose on the denon so the drawer closes after 10 seconds. Well it might stop me been clumsy again biggrin.gif

If you have a budget of at least £400 get the DENON you will not regret it.
