Serious subject, after 29 years djing in clubs and mobiles i have now discovered that i have lost 35% of the hearing in my left ear,use good headphones myself and always have, are there any other of you old timers experiencing the same kind of thing? 014.gif
Chrispy
Mobile doesn't seem to have any effect on mine. But for the the club I work in, and its 6kw sound system - I use foam ear plugs. smile.gif

I find mixing (often shakey!!!! )is imposible with the foam earplugs! Perhaps i should have used them when i was starting out !Gotta go time for work, hope its a good chat, will sign in when i get home.

Yep, You'll have to speak up at PLASA, or I won't here you.
I find the problem is ambient noise (a crowded room), then I can't hear the person stood next to me.

Only on the telephone, can't hear as well in my right ear. Put down to the fact I drive everywhere with my window open in the van and the noise of vehicles travelling past haas helped this.

So glad to hear i am not the only one with mono hearing!
Dj_Kray
You can now buy custom made ear plugs that are moulded to the shape of you ear and are designed to cut around 20% from all sound top mid and bass they dont give a dull effect as other normal plugs do the prob is they cost around £100 a pair and have to be custom fitted! but there good for mixing with i have been told!
YourBigEvent
Tried the earplug thingeys but felt uneasy on my feet and unbalanced so put them in the bin.

Are you sure that was the ear plugs and not due to the seven pints consumed earlier? 071.gif
