Was asked for this a few times over the weekend and my mate was also asked for it on Sat, appears to be the new Amarilo around here !! I think the Red side of Liverpool have been singing it in the stands....

Jonny Cash refused to let the tune be used for Preperation H Advert a few years ago. 071.gif

I had a guest request it at a wedding a couple of weeks ago. At the time I thought it a peculiar request and as it happened I didn't have it with me. I think I'll have to throw the Johnny Cash albums in the case now, just in case.

A great song, can work really well!

Agreed. I've used this as a singalong track with spectacular results at some events. Surprisingly, it's not just the oldies who love it, but the twenty-somethings.

Coincidentally I played a Johnny Cash track as the last song on sunday night. One of the guests had asked for Swing low sweet chariot, and the Johnny Cash version is bit livelier than many of the other versions such as Eric Claptons, UB40, Beyonce, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Louis Armstrong, The Inkspots and all the other thousands of artists that seem to have covered this track.

Swing low sweet chariot

Another song that would get me lynched up here LOL

I love Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt" - one of the most harrowing videos I've ever watched. And his brill version of "Personal Jesus" - what a guy :)

Doubt they'd fill the floor though 014.gif
