Hi guys. I have come accross a dilema in that I am broadcasting music on the internet in a "stream" format. and basically i have been asked to show a licence to say that i can broadcast music accross the internet. Now as far as i was aware i only had to have a licence if i was being financually benefitted by broadcasting. But if im not making a single penny then i dont need a licence. Is that the way or do i need to pay up and am i breaking the law. I should mention that its a local forum who have access to the url of the station and 1 person has decided to be auckward.
Many Thanks in advance

because you are publically performing cooypright music, you will need licences from the varoius agencies who lie after the rights of the pupplishers and performers etc. so your first stop should be www.prs.co.uk and www.ppl.co.uk. if your music is ripped to a hard drive you will need a dubing licence. unless your fully licenced it's not worth the aggro.
