Just purchased my mackie sub to go with pair of srm450's Used it twice now and to be honest im really impressed with the sound quality and power....however ive noticed the sub clips alot on moderate volume, my mixer bass pot is on normal and the sub gain is only on half way, im not sure if its a problem or not, it clips on bass beats as you would expect, but sometimes light is on constantly, so i quickly turn it down a touch to stop this...bit suprised to see it clipping at moderate volume
Anyone use the 1501 and have the same thing? thanks.gif

turn the gain up on the subs and tops to maximum and then back it of just a touch .. and now turn the main output of your mixer down a little....

also back the gain off on the channels if you have this control....

On my Mackie rig I usually set level knob on the tops to 12 O'Clock and the knob on the bass bins to 1 O'Clock. Only seen the bin clipping a couple of times but the volume was quite high at this time. There is a limiter on these bins which should give a level of over-drive protection anyway. How hard are you driving your mixer , make sure your pa is getting a good crisp signal not too low or not too high but just to about where the red leds on your mixer are starting to light up try to keep your levels here at all times.
