I was chatting with a bride about her forthcoming wedding. After the 1st dance she wants to have a dance with her mother (her father has passed away) and asked me for some suitable songs; for some strange reason my mind has gone blank wacko.gif I can think of loads of songs that mention the word "Mother" but none are really appropriate. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Don't bother with :
Does your mother know-abba
Knees up mother Brown!
Mother & child reunion
Your mothers got a penis etc
AJS Mobile Disco
Ma He's Making Eyes at me - Lena Zaveronii biggrin.gif

No only joking

How about Your my best Friend - Queen
Lovely Day - Bill Withers
Lets Dance - Chris Rea
Girls just want to have fun - Cyndi Lauper
Perfect Moment - Martine McCutcheon

Any use

I like Annes suggestion - Perfect Moment
It's a lovely song and fits quite well with the day.

Another suggestion but maybe a little cheesy - Mamma - Spice Girls

Obviously, there is a special bonding between then, I would probably suggest -
Have I Told you Lately That I Love You - Van Morrison or,
Someone Like You - Van Morrison
Amazed - Lonestar
Louis Armstrong - What A Wonderful World
Bryan Adams - I'll Aways Be There
You could so try,

Phil Collins - Against All Odds

Richard Marx has a song called Thanks To You which is about Mothers and is really nice...

"You gave me life,
Gave me your heart
Your shoulder when I needed to cry
You gave me hope when all my hope is gone
Wings so my dreams can fly
And I haven't told you enough
Haven't been good enough, making you see

Chorus:

My love for you will live in my heart
Until eternity's through....
I see your smile in the eyes of my child
I am who I am, Mama, Thanks to you"

Also a country singer called Martina McBride sang a song called "In My Daughters Eyes".

"In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I want to be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes
Everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light
And the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
Gives me strength when I'm weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes"

Both tracks are really nice and are not the usual run of the mill well known songs...

If you fancy using one, I have the originals of both so let me know and I can lend you the CD with the track on..

Thanks for the great suggestions; thumbup.gif I've passed them onto the bride and she's gonna have a think about which one she feels is most suitable.
