1998 - the year that saw RUN DMC and Jason whateverhisnameis seize the number 1 spot for 6 weeks with "Its like that", and Cher stay on top for 7 weeks with "Believe".

This year also saw a future Doctor Who assistance top the charts twice (1 week each), and even the chant of the year from The lightning seeds (either helped or hindered acoustically by Baddiel and Skinner) with Three Lions '98 managing 3 weeks. Even Usher made a premature appearance for a week at No.1 with "You make me wanna...", aptly named as it appears the song made quite a few people wanna go buy Aqua's "Turn back time".

The short-lived sample sounds of The Tamperer, tampered with an old Jacksons classic, and left us asking "Whats she gonna look like with a chimney on her?" ---- (she'd look like Ruth/Roof, wouldn't she? rolleyes.gif )

But did you have another favourite from this list for your dancefloor?

From a disco point of view, I have been asked for the "Chimney" record more than the others so my votes goes to the Tamperer

Cornershop for me - I still play it regularly (Norman Cook remix).

Playing "Three Lions" up here would get me lynched LMAO.

Cheers,

Jack.

I voted for the sinking ship (or is that song) from the list - annoying then and more annoying now biggrin.gif
However, I was actually asked to play more of Sandy B's Make The World Go Round closely followed by 'It's Like That....during this period.
Towards the end of the year, Shania Twain was pretty popular too.

Wasn't a very good year, was it? sleep1.gif

I went for Cher, very popular with the ladies still.
