Full Version: Glam - What Do You Play
Dj's United > "TALKING SHOP" > Music

Professional Mobile Disco & Wedding Disco
High Fidelity
We've covered Northern Soul & Mowtown, so how about Glam.

When somebody asks me for glam I nearly always use the same tracks:

Blockbuster - The Sweet
Tiger Feet - Mud
Beach Baby - First Class

What do you use for a glam set when the requester asks for some glam without specifying anything in particular.
BigBen
To an incredibly repsonseful crowd, last night I played Wig Wam Bam and I Love to Boogie followed by Bye Bye Baby, Crazy Horses and Let's Stick Together.

I don't think the last three are Glam but they worked well in the set.

Mud: Dyna-mite, or the cat crept in
Slade: Cum on feel the noize, Coz i luv u, of Mama weer all crazee now
Chicory Tip: Son of my father
Sailor: Glass of champagne
David Bowie: Jean Genie, Suffragette City, or Hang onto yourself

Hello: Tell him
Doctor & the Medics: Spirit in the sky
Alvin Stardust: Jealous mind, Red dress, or My Coo ca choo
Showaddywaddy: Hey rock&roll
Mott the Hoople: All the way from Memphis, Roll away the stone, or All the young dudes
Still best to stear clear of Garry Glitter tho, but there's always the Glitter Band: Angel Face or Goodbye my love

You can get away with Crazy horses, Let's stick together & Bye bye baby, if you're going to play the Rollers try Shang a lang, & for Roxy Music, Virginia Plain

Will that do you? cool.gif

EDIT: P.S. My Mum's got a Glam rock CD which for some bizzarre reason includes ADAM & THE ANTS!!!!!!!

& I thought I'd put my thinking cap on! Obviuosly a man after my own heart
I think between us that's a whole evenings set!
High Fidelity
I've got plenty of Glam CD's and tracks, as Im sure most of us have.

I was more interested in what everyone uses regularly if a customer asks for glam without specifying anything in particular.
