tarzan boy baltimora - benidorm 1985. another memory was karen the whipped cream nympho! ahhh happy days
Old School Disco
Was in Tenerife when acid house etc was very big. Most memorable tune has to be Insomniak by Bazooka Joe. I've lost my original CD of it! Arrrrrrrrrrrghhhhh. Heard it everywhere we went smile.gif

This is more recent, but there was a song I heard everywhere is Spain about 5 years ago which sampled Nik Kershaw's "Wouldn't It Be Good". I've tried to track it down ever since and come up blank - any ideas? It's got a rap verse and uses the original chorus pretty much.

Sorry to hijack the thread for 5 mins.

Cheers,

Jack.

Could it be "dj pulse"?

Doesn't ring a bell - the vibe was very DeLaSoul - nice gentle rap

You are avin a giraffe aintchya huh.gif wallbash.gif
That was one of the worst records of all time made by one of the worst bands of all time pooh.gif
I was DJ'ing in a few clubs around Europe at that time and the Germans, Italians & Swiss loved Modern Talking, even though every single one of their records sounded exactly the same. Even if you didn't know how to mix you'd be able to mix any of their records into each other!!
The ratio of good stuff to crap that comes out of Europe is woeful; when you think of all the dross like Modern Talking, 2 unlimited, Milli vanilli, Spagna, DJ Casper, Sandra, Tony Esposito and all the other rubbish pop pooh.gif that European bands have churned out over the past couple of decades.
The French have produced some decent acid-jazz and the Dutch every now and then release a decent track but it's few and far between as far as I'm concerned.

First time I went to Magaluf, was OMC - How Bizzare, and Spanish version of Macarena, and Whigfield - Saturday night. They seemed to sound better in another language lol.
And I remember the first song on the Plane which was The BEatles - Hard Days Night!! pizza.gif

We used to go to the hippodrome, which i'm informed is still there, there was also a bar with a bucking bull whose name escapes me (the bar that is not the bull). we'd walk along the stip, go to champions and then finish in harrods and top of the pops, where the Dj always used to play new york new york, Bloody sunday and if memory serves me correctly, he used to sing cos i don't think black lace was out at the time. then it was off to a little kebab stall which used to sell the best burgers i have ever tasted. next morning we'd go a corner caff owned by a guy from yorkshire for a slap up english breakfast or the duke of york which was just outside the apartment.
