36 numbers ones out of 52 weeks in the year.
Those artists that managed more than just a week at number one included:
Westlife: I have a dream/seasons in the sun - 4 Weeks
Sir Cliff Richard: Millennium Prayer - 3 weeks
Eiffel 65: Blue (that'll get stuck in your head for the afternoon now) - 3 weeks
Ricky Martin: Livin' la vida loco - 3 weeks
Britney Spears: One more time - 2 weeks
Christina Aguilara: Genie in a bottle - 2 weeks
Ronan Keeting: When you say nothing at all - 2 weeks
ATB - Til I come - 2 weeks
Westlife - Swear it again - 2 weeks
Martine Mcclutheon - Perfect moment - 2 weeks
Boyzone - when the going gets tough - 2 weeks
And...
Mr Oizo - Flat beat - 2 weeks
This last one, I remember being referred to at the time as "The Marmite Song" - you either loved it, or hated it. Many a Customised Ford XR something played this while waiting at the traffic lights, with the driver hanging his arm out the car window...

ATB must have been one of my most played in '99. Followed closely by La vida loca. But I think that is more popular now than when it came out.

Well i still get asked for Ricky Martin - Livin' la vida loco and it goes down well at wedding type gigs but 1 of my personal favs is Armand Van Helden featuring Duane Haeden: You Don't Know Me which i still play at some of my club gigs

Although I voted for Livin La Vida Loca - I think an honourable mention must go to Five. Keep on Movin' is always a great track to use at parties.
