The dancing is partner dancing on a straight 8 beat but not too rock and roll, this type of jive is not so 'extreme'. The prefered genres are:- Popular music 'classic rock' some swing blues jazz.
I got involved by going to a few dance lessons then the instructor was looking for a mobile disco to cover his regular Saturday night set in the local town hall. The great thing about providing the music for the dances is that people will always get up and dance as soon as they walk in the door so from 8pm to 11.30 there are people dancing. They also are not affraid to ask for their favourite tunes of which I can now most of the time cover if not I should have it by the next dance.
I leave request slips on the tables which has been a great idea. It has my phone number on so hopefully I can and do get other bookings and when they hand them in I can spend time finding them- memory like a sieve.
I will now show you part of my last play list so you can get the full effect:-
