We've talked about first dance music on here before, but I was wondering about 2nd dance music.

Every wedding I've done so far haven't had a second dance, so I've not had the problem of finding suitable music, which is just as well, as I would have to rely on the customer picking the song because I just can't think of anything suitable for a Bride and her Father to dance to.

So how about a list of suitable music for a Bride & Father to dance to.

And if her names Annie, we're not going to suggest "Annie, I'm not you're daddy" are we. fear.gif

I haven't done a Wedding with "just" one first dance for ages!

The Wedding I did the other week had three first dances and 2 or 3 has been the norm for a lot of the bookings I have had over the last few years.

Mind you I always ensure these things are sorted out well in advance and ask the Bride and Groom if they want to have particular dances with other family members.

If they don't, it's party time! biggrin.gif beer.gif

So what have you been playing for 2nd & 3rd first dances Steve?

Currently I would have to rely on the customer choosing something suitable, but it would be nice if they asked for advice, to be able to suggest something.

If nothing is specified, i tend to go for " Have I told you lately" by Van Morrison.

Works for me, most of the time. whistling.gif

Having said that I have just had one of those weddings where 6 danced to the Abba bit!!!!!!!!!!!

Enough said. wallbash.gif

We had a recent wedding where they asked us to pick 1st & 2nd dance.

So we suggested Shania for !st, and Stylistics You Make Me Feel Brand New as a 2nd.

The 2nd dance filled the floor! biggrin.gif

Like most I would usually leave it to the Bride & Groom, but have found that some couples get completely stuck for ideas even for first dance, so we have a list of first dance suggestions. (PM me if you'd like a copy)

Father & daughter dances - I have a request for a wedding in July for..........................................................................Changes by Ozzy & Kelly biggrin.gif

Will have to give this one a little more thought. - Most of the time my bride & grooms don't want formal parent dances and tend to do the dance with mum / dad informally during the night.

Well i,ve heard of someone in my area who did a wedding although the bride was a bloke at birth and this dj thought it would be humourous to to play father and son by ronan keating for the bride and father of the bride to dance to.

Did not go down well!!!!! fear.gif

A good Father and Bride song is Frank Sinatra and 'The way you look tonight' always ends up with both in tears.

A good general second dance could be Fat Larrys Band and Zoom!

last night they requested kylie and jason for the second dance has to be one of the worst choices ever.

Maybe it's just me then beause I have never been asked to suggest slow dances 533.gif

We normally do the first dance (or dances) and then get into the party stuff.

I'll have a think and come back with some suggestions though biggrin.gif

Shoot me if you think I'm wrong but I think "My Girl" is a really nice song for father and daughter. The lyrics work really well as they are not about LOVE in that kind of a way but could pertain to a fartherly love!

I must be in a sentimental mood this morning!

I think Celine's song about her dad is very touching - Because You Loved Me.

Very touching lyrics, I'm sure everyone would be in tears by the end...DJ included!!
