Hi all,
I have just taken delivery of 57 CD's, someone's old collection, some of them are right up my street others I've never heard of. There is alot of 1999 - 2003 RnB which I would never play as I don't do that type of set. So my delema should I keep hold of them just in case I get a request or sell them.

I did only pay £1.20 plus postage for the lot off ebay! biggrin.gif

I'd consider keeping the ones that you like, or think that you would play, then group the ones that you dont want, together into genre specific "lots" and re-e-bay them again. thumbup.gif

How many CD's do I carry that I never play worried that one day someone may ask for a particular track... wacko.gif

If you want to keep them, bung them in a cd-folder and leave them in your car at gigs; if someone requests it, you can always nip outside for it.

I have about 10,000 tracks at each gig.........just in case, I will use about 0.01% of them at 90% of gigs but one day someone will ask for Doris Day or Brotherhood Of Man, also good for a laugh now and again

BTW this isn't meant to turn the topic into how many tracks you have.

Keep them.

They're not costing you anything to keep, and you may be able to astound somebody one day when they say "I don't suppose you've got ****", and you pull it out of the bag.

I bought their album the other day for £1 biggrin.gif Not sure why though.

Personnally i would keep them as the larger the collection you have the better off you will always be. And you could also lend them out to anoyjer dj you are quite well known with.

That was probably why.

Bargains in cds just draw you to them and you happily buy................. then ask youself "why?" fear.gif

It's a hazard of the job. tongue.gif
