Pin 1 (Centre Pin) Earth Connection

Pins 6,7,8 (Often all linked) - Common Feed Terminal (Usually Live)

Pin 2 - Channel 1 Switched (N)
Pin 3 - Channel 2 Switched (N)
Pin 4 - Channel 3 Switched (N)
Pin 5 - Channel 4 Switched (N)

Most modern lighting controllers switch the "N" Neutral side of the mains (Blue wire on standard mains wire) feed to each channel and use the Live (Brown Wire on mains lead) as a permanent "common" connection which feeds each lamp.

Ensure that the cable you are using is upto the load you are feeding - remembering that if your controller is a multi pattern type, then more than one channel may be on at any one time!. So allow for this.

If you were after saving some money...or erm "Maximising existing product" biggrin.gif You could always consider the following option with Bulgins.

A Spider...

Well, thats what I used to call them anyway.... If you've got say 8 screens, and a controller...you're more or less looking at 16 bulgin plugs to connect them all up together... Well, if you build a "Spider" you can do it with half that...

Basically, you need to build yourself a junction box...with the appropriate number of "arms/legs" coming off of it. Each "leg" ends with a Bulgin lead. One leg plugs into the controller, the other legs plug into the screens... The resulting spare bulgin plugs can then be used to make a spare "spider"....
