Please can somebody tell me why the music from Dirty Dancing has come back in fasion at the moment. I have noticed that they have even re-released the soundtrack with new artwork.

Am I missing something here? Like it's been turned into a stage show and I didn't know about it?

I don't think it has ever gone out of fashion. Even if not requested, tracks from Dirty Dancing nearly always go down well with girls in the 16-30 age range. - Most of them seem to have it on video or DVD and watch it again every time they have a girly night in. rolleyes.gif

Dirty Dancing 2 Havana Nights was at the cinema last year and came out on video a few months ago. scared.gif

but the original music has never disappeared i'm always being asked for hungry eyes or time of my life

Also, the track "Do you love me?" gets a few requests, but tends to be one of those tracks which people have forgotten that they like. But always appreciate having their memories jogged. wacko.gif

I got caught out with the recent album release.

Ripped it to the laptop and then deleted a few of the ones that I already had. One of the ones I deleted was Time of My life, which was one from a compilation album.

Came to play it when requested at the end of a function and found it was a different version to the one off the compilation album. It was considerably longer, but didn't have the same instrumental bit, and definitely not as good. wallbash.gif

Have now put the other one back on the laptop again. sleep1.gif

It's just last weekend I bumped into 3 people I know who had just brough the soundtrack! What was that all about.

I'm affraid I hated the 1st movie and wont be making the effort to see the 2nd. I do have the music for if it gets requested but it just seemed really weird that everone is going thorugh this phase.

I guess it's like the elvis and Shaking Stevens revival!
