Hi Guys

Try using mixmeister as it is very easy to use.

You can drag and drop the songs in less than 3 seconds and it will blend them in well for you.
There is a feature to beat match but I dont use it for that so can not comment on it.

If you would like a program for the password email me and I will send to you.

Check the pinned topic of this section, call Programs and Links. It has a list of programs that are good to use with a laptop! Personally, one i have enjoyed to use is the Traktor DJ Program (which they use for the new version of Stanton's Final Scratch Package)! Very good to use... smile.gif

ive used ots juke ,pcdj red and i have also got stanton final scratch. i would recomend for mobiling you get the pcdj red and buy the external contoler that goes with it (its about £100 for the controller). ots juke is great but as said quite dear and as far as i know it does not offer a external controller! And the final scratch is mainlt good for mixing but it is amazing. I hope that helps a bit!!

hi guys have used otsjuke ,i must say the most stable program i have ever used, have tried all the rest and although otsjuke take a long time in releasing upgrades i think this is where they are spending the time to make sure it is rock solid unlike our friends at pcdj fx,

I have recently had a "play" with mixmeister pro and whilst I have not actually used the software "in anger", I can see the benefits that the mobile jock would reap by using it.

First of all, for the "reasonably" cheap price which a laptop can be acquired for these days it is well worth having just as a back up, (40 gig of MP3 files is quite some amount of tunes).

Mixmeister allows you to "import" any media files, (.wav, .mp3 etc) into a playlist which can be programmed "on the fly". This really could get you out of the mire in case of equipment failure, (unless its your mixer or amp that fails of course, in which case - phone Chris).

The interface is very intuitive, allowing for simple "drag & drop" cueing and the software will automatically work out the BPM allowing you to concentrate on sorting out your issues as opposed to wondering if the show will go on at all.

By dragging 6 or 7 tracks into the "playlist" window, and using the built in beatmixing facility, it is possible to "tweak" the "outro" and the "intro" so that they match "as near as dammit", (saves you attempting to mix two tracks with 90BPM & 130BPM respectively) and losing the full dance floor which you have tried so hard to keep for the whole evening, (this can also buy you around 30 - 40 minutes to sort out your problems). You can also manually change the BPM allowing for accurate mixing of tracks, (the software will gradually speed up a track over its duration, so that when it reaches the end it is perfectly matched to the next track - add to that the outro/intro matching and it soon becomes apparent that this software can save you a world of trouble).

I could not see me ever using this software to run a whole evenings entertainment, but it could certainly get you out of a hole, so on that count alone I reckon it is certainly worth a look.

Yanto............I heartily reccomend it aswell, and yes when the audience were brain dead I used it for a large part of the evening! You can also save playlists aswell so the wedding guys can save 'buffet tracks' or kids party' ...... drum n bass set etc etc its a fabulous program, and to be honest on my laptop in two years has never crashed. (however the laptop is ONLY used for music and has nothing else on it!!
