Does anyone experience the same problem I have with a NJD Euro 4E lighting controller?

I want to use the audio beat chase function, so you connect and audio input from your amp into it.

The problem is the sensitivity seem so great the chasing is really screwed up (more strobing than chasing!), especially at loud volumes.

NJD advised the 4E was always a bit sensitive and try a 1kohm resistor in series with the audio feed. This had no noticeable effect. Even an adjustable 10K pot didn't help.

Try feeding it from a spare line level output of your mixer or the "Slave / Link" output of the Amplifier if it has one, rather than feeding it directly from the Amplifier at Speaker Level.

If that doesn't work, try using a more substantial value resistor in Series with the centre pin of the Jack Plug. I would try using a 220k, 470k, 1Meg resistor for the best results.

The problem with the direct audio connection methods of Sound Chasers, was that the Manufacturer would never know if it was going to be used on a 50w or 2000w Amplifier tongue.gif so they opted for circuitry that was the most responsive around the 150 - 250w mark. Anything above this would still operate okay, but would tend to leave the Circuitry continuously triggered - which in use is the equivalent to setting the chase speed control to full!.

Thanks for the advice, I will try using a spare output!
