A massive improvement on the existing CD1 is this great new cd player incorporating CDG, so no need for the KD-1 Karaoke Decoder with this new player. Improvements on the CD1s include new jog wheel, CDG compatibility, Large LCD screen with multi-angle view, manual BPM facuility (Not sure how useful this is wacko.gif ) & auto cue to music start. The sugested retail price on this unit is only £249*

Citronic CX-Live (HK Lucas Style) Powered Speaker System

user posted image

I know the picture I have supplied doesn't exactly do the product justice, I will use another one with the speakers on stands etc when I get one.

The CX-Live Series of powered speakers are styled and engineered in Italy for Citronic using state of the art technology to produce a revolutionary compact speaker system, which offers outstanding efficiency and superior sound quality, with a wide and versatile control set. Designed to provide optimum performance, using customized transducers, new synthetic materials for the cabinets and a special bi-amplification system, these speakers achieve a superb natural sound with excellent and accurate stereo imaging. SRP to be confirmed.

Allthough most products are "Made in China", Citronic's new designs make them better built, with better quality components inside and much, much, much more rigid on the outside, allowing for more commercial applications such as installation!

It's been a while since I would have installed a Citronic product... biggrin.gif But I would say that these new products are definately worthy of the Citronic name and these should bring back that old reputation we all remember so well.

I will write reviews on all these products the day they arrive in our showrooms.

With Chris otherwise indisposed tonight, I'd like to thank you for your post Craig. I'd imagine that the CD1x deck will appeal especially to those DJ's who also do some CD+G Karaoke work too - being able to simply go from playing NOW 59 in Deck 1, straight into Sunflys greatest karaoke hits in Deck 2 - smooth, whilst the CD4, with Seamless loop etc, will appear to those DJ's wanting to get a little more creative with their entertainment. Its nice to read that Citronic are doing well depsite their decision to close their great repair centre, and factory at Melksham, Wiltshire last year.

For those keen eyed DJU members out there, you'll notice that Craig (of Disco Studio) is the first member in DJs Uniteds new "Retailer" category, introduced by Chris P recently.

DJU members have always been able to post a question, such as "I've got a big gap on my overhead rig, what light should I put there?" and of course, receive 20+ different, helpful replies from other DJU members, with the member then choosing to buy from Chris/CSL, or free to surf the net for the best deal.

Under the latest DJU practices, retailers are now able to register AS A RETAILER and offer upfront advice, as seen above by Craig of Discostudio, and can be clearly identified as a retailer. This avoids any confusion from members, and the former issues where unscrupulous traders would sneak onto the forum under a normal member ID, and start PM'ing newbies underhandedly, with "Pssssst! Wanna buya cheap fogger mate?"

We are also hoping that members of the DJU Retailers category, will be able to provide regular special offers and promotions to DJU members, similar to the spectacular pricing and offers which CSL used to offer DJU members on a regular basis.

Welcome Craig! 042.gif Why not post something about yourself, and Discostudios history in the "new members" section above.

Isn't Citronic a part of Skytronic company ?

Isn't Citronic a part of Skytronic company ?

Alas - it is now. Although I've heard no comments either "for" or "against" Skytronic.

Citronic used to be an outstanding company in terms of product innovation (eg: incorporating features that other products didn't have), had good-to-excellent reliability, and a stunning drop in repair facility, where you could phone in for an appointment for a piece of equipment to be serviced, take it along in the morning of the appointment, and collect it, serviced or repaired - that afternoon! At that was right in their own factory on Bowerhill industrial estate, Melksham.

When I had my monster of a mixer the Citronic SM650 (connectors for every possible need), I'm sure the service guy gave me a huge discount, just purely for looking after it so well thumbup.gif

Regretably, Citronics "innovative" product range is now infilrated by re-badged "cheap'n'cheerful-china-clones", with many products only differing from some of the Amercian DJ Audio products by the logo, and the UK factory is closed.

Shame - but as I say, I've not heard anything either way about "Skytronic" - perhaps if a skytronic rep is on the DJU forum (yet)...they'd like to PM me, or publically introduce themselves to the DJU community.
