Bass Bin...or Bins??

Bass sound is not directional, so it doesn't suffer from mono or stereo incompatibilities, but it is generally the norm for D.J's to use two bass bins to compliment their existing speaker arrangement, not to mention adding a more balanced load to the amplifier. For instance if you already have two main loudspeakers, then adding a second speaker (Bass Bin) to your system will increase the power on one channel of the amp, meaning that you get one of the main speakers appearing to be louder than the other!.

For Disco use, better to save up a little more and go for two Bins - one for each channel. My own recomendation is the OHM RWS - 15" 300W.

Sorry aj I dont know much about the speakers on the market, but I've seen the makie series with internal amp etc in action!!

I see a live band with 2 tops (400W) each and 2 bass bins (600W) each, and in a large hall these things have amazing sound even at high db!!! fear.gif

Although these are a bit expensive (for me anyway dry.gif )

Yeah the mackie rig SOUNDS real nice even loud - but theres no kick, no punch, no raw bass calling you to the dancefloor

Sorry bout that - suppose the mackie bins should be in my dj pet hates !
