Ramada Jarvis want it two weeks prior.
I have been asked by Holiday Inn (ex Forte Posthouse).

Come on guys & gals, we are the professionals in this bizz.
Wouls you start a taxi without the proper "paperwork"
Would you start a retail outlet with out the proper "paperwork"
Hell, would you start any bizz without the "paperwork work"

I work for Bass (and prior to that it was owned by Forte) four nights a week and in 20 yrs have NEVER been asked by them.

I think we are all agreed its the correct way to run a business, the poll is have you ever been asked, not have you got it.

Mikee,
You mention Ramada Jarvis, well I did a gig at the Watford Ramada Jarvis a couple of months ago; it was a last minute booking, covering for a dj who had been cancelled due to the fact that he didn't have PAT certs. I was asked whether I had them and if so I'd need to bring them on the night.
On the night, not once was I asked to present them. I've had this in other venues also, where beforehand I've been asked to bring them, and never on the night has anyone actually asked to see them, and this includes some extremely prestigious venues in the west end etc.
At one venue about 18 months ago (I forget which venue) they asked me to fax them my PAT certs a couple of weeks b4 the gig.

Hi Eskie,
I think it is safe to say that the major chains do require it, but it's luck of the draw as to whether you get asked. But having said that, I bet if you turned up with your kit looking like it had been dragged through a hedge backwards, somebody would ask.
