Hi, went out round town on saturday and a lot of dj's were playing clubbed up versions of old songs like,
neil diamond - sweet caroline
Vanilla ice - ice ice baby etc,
I have just looked online to find a cd of such mixes because i think they would go down well at some of my disco's and i cannot find anything. So does anyone know the name of any good albums which will have mixes of old songs like this, Cheers, James
DJ Marky Marc
Most of them can be found on master mx and DMC cd's but you wont find these cd's in jsut any old shop.....

also you can try to visit your local dance record shop and have a chat with them, they will point you in the direction of some cooler dance versions of old tracks....

im currently playing the O jays , i love music in lots of house music sets.....

Generally you only find these on vinyl in specialist dance music shops. They are typically white label bootleg remixes, produced by DJ's taking the original and adding a new beat and bassline. The great thing is that they still similar to the original, whilst making the song faster and more exciting. (Unlike some professional remixes which make songs sound completely different to the original.)

If DJ's around your town are playing them, it is likely that they are available in the main dance music vinyl shop in town. Why not ask some of these DJ's where they brought them.

I buy one or two of these every month, and find they go down very well with the right crowd. My favorate of the last year was a 125 bpm dance mix of Marvin Gay's "What's Going On".

I also find some excellent house remixes of R&B tracks in the same shops, which can be a great way to work some R&B songs in to a set whilst keeping the excitement level up.

Also try looking at Spanish / German type CDs.. I used to work in Ibiza and whilst there the Spanish covered EVERYTHING.. I have dance mixes of loads of songs that they use just to fill CDs, even though they are good versions...

Also, whilst in Ireland for Christmas, there was an Ireland Clubland cd which had danced up cover tracks on it...

Failing that, or for the original tune with a beat added, try DMC and Mastermix like Marc says as they are often on there... (Sweet Caroline was on a recent one if I remember correct)

Am I correct in thinking CD Pool release a CD of hard to find classics and remixes? Maybe that would be worth a shot.

There's a wicked track around which samples ELO:

The Lovefreeks - Shine

And it goes down very well with 'mobile' crowds too

Anyone know which LEGAL download services have this as a single?

Woolworths, who I use as my normal "charty" download site, dont have it, although they're pretty upto date usually.
