Hi Everyone, I've just done Pub in our Town and it went down really well. The problem is it's not my booking! The guy who normally does it is getting a bit stale according to the landlady and wants me to do it all the time. I got the night from a DJ who's got quite a large concern in town and has passed on alot of work my way.Although I've been DJ-ing for over 25 years I have only recently set up on my own. How do I get work around my town without upsetting the regulars? I know it's competition at the end of the day but some of the guys can be quite nasty.

Think in this situation Loz, I would diplomatically point out to the landlady that perhaps the reason he is a bit 'stale' is because she uses him all the time.

Then throw words in her mouth for his benefit like "If the brewery were to have a rethink and employ 2 different DJ's week about, or 4 a month one week each, then she has a reason to use you and he can't say anything!

No I don't advocate openly nicking work as it sounds too much like the ice cream wars of past, but business is business!
