ok guys and girls yes i understand the denon S5000 has more tricks and buttons. i also understand the bug in the scratch and pitch lock on the technics SLDZ1200.

But

i can have only one for now....

what i want is a denon inside the technics case but this is not going to happen....

so what do i spend the money on

technics because it looks the best or denon becuase it is the most funtional ....

dont forget i also run two SL1200's in my setup and still play 12"

help please

Marky, I spent 1/2 hour at plasa on the Technics, and found other issues which ruled them out for any serious use. The pitch problem really is unbelievable, but the display is tiny, the buttons are unclear and cramped, and when you want to make a loop, the spinning nipple nudges your finger! The only good thing I can say is it has a headphone socket!

The Dn-S5000 is brill, but I still sway towards the Pioneer CDJ1000 being better to use, and uncluttered. Your choice mate!

If you want to borrrow the CDJ1000, let me know...

What you have to consider is how many people are going to hear your new CD-decks, and how many of those people are going to SEE the new CD-decks.

Perhaps a compromise would be to get a pair of the Denon DN-S5000s and then treat yourself to a pair of the Gold, Silver or Metalic red/blue (cant remember which) face plates.

Based on what I've heard about the Denon equipment, I believe that you will be very happy.

Why not 'hold on' for 34 days or so and try before you buy at the DJU M.A.X.?!
Plus, the 'rep' from Denon can answer any questions you may have!

Scoff! biggrin.gif Does Mr CP sell'em...?

Yes he does, and he had a pretty stunning price on the Denon CD-decks as one of the DJU Advent calender sale thingy-ma-jigs, early December. You'd need to contact Chris for current prices.

Yes - I have to admit as a user of Pioneer gear (and a user of the already mentioned CDJ1000mk II) that whilst the Pioneer is a good stepping stone from vinyl to CD (especially if you mix)....the Denon, by far, pound for pound, probably the better value player on 'features' alone.
It can do the same job and more! rolleyes.gif

But not wishing to turn this into a debate of one better than the other, you really have to try before you buy, one reason why I'll be asking for a demo of the displayed Denon products at DJU M.A.X. - am considering adding a Denon product / range to my existing line of *faultless products!!! biggrin.gif

* well one slight fault - Pioneer price!

I am a total pioneer man but after a challenge from Sir Gary i had a go on the denon and it was excellent.
