All my MP3's are backed up as data onto about 20 CD Roms, I am looking for some software whereby they can be read and added to an alphabetical database (Artist - Title) Standard tag details.

What I would then like to be able to do is look or search the alphabetical list and it tell me such and such a track is on disc 5 or whatever. Anyone know of a database which will do this or do I have to manually alter every tag to read Disc x Artist - Title.

There has to be an easy way but i've tried loads and they either come back with the contents of each disc alphabetically (in which case I have to read 20 lists) or they can't do it alphabetically.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi

If you get hold of a copy of mixmeister this will then read the ID3 tag on the back of the MP3.

From the catalogue on there you can either play them or to catalogue to another source cut and paste the catalogue to a spread sheet. from there you can extract the info you want to a text file and if you then email me I can send you a file that is a catologue that you can search.

To give you an idea it took me about 15 minutes to catologue 1900 track from my MP3's on my computer to the file.

CATraxx will also do this it will read all files on your drive or external disks, cd's-roms, cd's etc.
Check out CATraxx I've been using this software now for years and have used it to catalogue my vinyl, cd's & mp3's and now when i'm looking for something this will tell me instantly where it is.
