Imagine someone brought out a modular record deck. EG: You buy the standard model, with a direct drive motor (same torque as Tech SL1210) ...+/- 8% pitch control...blah blah blah. And then you can choose 5 add-on modules that fit inside the frame perfectly, from a choice of say 10 modules.
Which modules would you choose and why?
*Varispeed booster. upto +/- 100% pitch control
*Straight Tone Arm
*Key adjust (stops record sounding like Darth Vader, or a chipmunk when you pitch it down/up)
*Aux Out (instead of low level phono out)
*Reverse Play button - sdrawkcab sdrocer syalp.
*Programmable Brake/spinback button
*Digital Pitch Display (no guessing...you KNOW its +3.05)
*Dipless pitch control (doesnt "click" into place at ZERO)
*Scratch module (programable to play only forward, or only reverse sounds)
*Automatic arm (lifts the arm up at the end of the record and returns it to the arm rest)
Which modules would you choose? Which modules would you like to see, if they're not on the above list?
Note: Such a turntable (and modules) doesnt exist (to my knowledge :-)), but with Plasa coming up...who knows)
For easy replying, I'd suggest cut'n'pasting the whole set of options above into your reply, then delete the ones you dont want.
Feel free to add comments about why you've opt'd to have, (or to leave off) certain features, and also add comments about any "new" modules that you wish had been "available".
Go!
