He we go... Yet another dilemma...

Your doing a 70's Night, everyone is dressed up - including you in the worlds biggest afro! and full flower power shirt and flares...

What would you play?

Edit:
I will be giving the requests throught the night too...
Invinoveritas
Afro, flower power shirt and flares? Try these:

You Wear it well (Rod Stewart)
You Aint Seen Nothing Yet (BTO)
Daddy Cool (Darts)
Da Ya Think I'm Sexy (Stewart again)
Oldest Swinger in Town (Fred Wenlock)

And if all else fails: The Streak (Ray Stevens) - but that would need a costume change!

Sorry Madgutts, this is not one of my more lucid days wacko.gif I'll be OK when I take my medication.

Great to find you are from Oxfordshire, thought I was alone in this county.

This isnt really a dilema... If it was a 70s night (and I was wearing an afro), I would play 70s.

Probably start off with Superstition - Stevie Wonder, coz I like it..
Digital discos
Surely just popular 70s stuff?
Tramps, Mud, Abba,Jackson 5, Billy Ocean, Candi Staton, Nolans, Heatwave and T-Rex

Thats what I would play for an a run of the mill 70s do 533.gif

Don't forget to play to the people who were "greasers" back in the seventies...
Free - Alright Now,
Stones - Brown Sugar,
and Thin Lizzie's The Boys are back in Town etc.

Clive.
Paul Smith
Although it's a 70s disco you could also include songs from the 50s & 60s because tracks from those decades were also played during the 70s at discos (so they tell me smile.gif )

So some Rock 'n Roll, Beatles, Stones, Foundations, 60s Soul & Motown.

Some 70s suggestions:

Odyssey - Native New Yorker
Rose Royce - Car Wash
Trammps - Hold Back the Night
Abba - Dancing Queen
Barry White - Your the 1st....
Tavares - Heaven must be missing an angel

A request I played recently at an 18th which got a good response was The Osmonds - Crazy Horses

Also big in the 70s were BCRs, Mud, Showaddywaddy, Queen, Sweet, Bowie.....
